摘要: Crustacean community structure and dynamics are very well studied in lakes, rivers oceanic systems but wetlands, where moisture conditions fluctuate, have not received equal attention research. For example, cladoceran communities peatland the subarctic region been fully investigated. We used paleolimnological paleoecological methods to study plant assemblages two peatlands, which differ their hydrological characteristics. At first site, Iitto, river floods introduce planktonic species fen pools steep topography of catchment induces rapid relatively short flooding periods. Fluctuating environmental result a high amount resting stages samples. other Kaamanen, assemblage goes through clear directional changes, could be attributed changes hydrology ultimately climatic during past millennia.
