摘要: Over the past three decades field of regional computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling has flourished, growing from a handful top-down, single-region and low-dimensioned multiregional models, to mature field, in which output large-scale general-purpose CGE models become standard input policy deliberations number countries. Researchers have ensured that innovations theory, data construction model application matched growth both computing power appetite government decision makers for expanding levels policy-relevant sectoral detail. This chapter focuses on development its current state, accomplishments elucidating important research questions issues economics. We begin by discussing as subdiscipline modeling, distinguishing attributes models. then discuss applications demonstrating such answer providing an application-driven motivation our discussion field. consider key theoretical features identifying many ways researchers modeled behavior economic agents context. The paucity at level suitable long been constraint so we methods populating model’s database. undertake simulations with show how can be communicated way does not presume knowledge details underlying model. note effective communication results studies, based correct interpretation mechanisms underlie them, is prerequisite acceptance circles.
