摘要: Copper is a generally robust material that has beneficial properties to reduce biofilm formation and pathogen colonisation of pipes supplying potable water. However, rare pitting corrosion can occur in soft, poorly buffered waters lead pipe failure. This been shown be mediated by copper-tolerant whose physical chemical heterogeneity establish microenvironments for potentials, causing micro pits eventually coalesce into large perforations through the wall. Control biofilm, example reduced cold water or elevated hot temperatures, suppress this phenomenon.
