Breast cancer awareness of rural women in Malaysia: is it the same as in the cities?

摘要: Breast cancer is the most common among women globally. This study was conducted to compare awareness of breast and practice self-examination (BSE), clinical examination (CBE) mammography screening rural females in Pahang Perak. A cross-sectional carried out five selected districts Two hundred fifty households were randomly interviewed face using a semi-structured questionnaire. The majority residents from both states Malay, aged between 50 60 years had secondary level education. Malay 40–49 with higher education significantly more aware (p<0.05). About half these practiced BSE (60.7%) CBE (56.1%), 7% underwent screening. results this suggest that Perak have good than CBE. women’s appears contribute their knowledge health behaviour. However, effort needed encourage all areas acquire further on cancer.
