摘要: Maedi/visna (MV) is a lentiviral disease of sheep caused by the maedi/visna virus (MVV). Although MV prevalent in many countries, it had not been reported Japan. In 2011, however, three northern Japan were to be seropositive against MVV antigen, indicating persistent infection. present study, we isolated from one confirm infection and conducted genomic classification virus. The co-culture leukocytes with fetal goat lung cells resulted formation syncytial amplification long terminal repeat sequence polymerase chain reaction. isolate was confirmed as being MVV, rather than caprine arthritis-encephalitis based on phylogenetic analysis gag gene sequence. asymptomatic, nonpurulent meningitis demyelination found spinal cord. These considered early lesions associated pathogenic Therefore, study demonstrated that distributed
