Random capillary blood glucose and conventional selection criteria for glucose tolerance testing during pregnancy.

摘要: The normal variation of random capillary blood glucose values and the usefulness elevated (greater than or equal to 6.5 mmol/l) as a selection criterion for oral tolerance testing (OGTT) during pregnancy were investigated. A consecutive series 1,500 pregnant women without signs symptoms diabetes 81 with conventional criteria OGTT studied. mean value was 4.66 mmol/l 95% interval all 2.93-6.38 mmol/l. Blood levels not influenced by time day trimester pregnancy. higher found in 174 women, 10 whom had an abnormal OGTT.
