Inter-satellite optical communication networks: RF fading diversity for higher spectral efficiency

摘要: Revolutionary developments in semiconductors lead to efficient deployment of lasers and photodetectors, thus enabling optical transmission data signals, whether fiber optic links or free space. Line sight characteristic optics ensures the security data. With incessant increase numbers satellites payload required handle, it is inevitable that future we will see a shift towards networking, especially earth orbiting satellites. We demonstrate novel all-optical multiplexing technique for doubling usable spectral bandwidth number channels subcarrier-modulated over free-space connections. By taking advantage chromatic-dispersion-induced RF power fading given subcarrier frequency, can transmit two occupy same frequency space.. successfully receive 155 Mbit/s are both located at 7.1 GHz.
