摘要: A trichloroethene (TCE) plume has been identified in an unconfined sand aquifer Perth, Western Australia. This is the first known major occurrence of groundwater contamination by chlorinated aliphatic compounds Perth. small-scale (ca. 13m), natural-gradient tracer test, utilizing deuterated TCE (TCEdl) and potassium bromide, was undertaken within to determine hydrodynamic sorptive properties aquifer. No sorption TCEdl observed, which contrast a retardation coefficient estimate 1.8, calculated from equations based on organic carbon fraction sand. low dispersivity material calculated, indicating that dispersion negligible with respect advective flow. Variable flow at distinct levels profile shown produce tailing depth-averaged breakthrough curves. The C-D bond stable, usefulness as contaminated zone.
