摘要: We study the effect of primary particle morphology on intense shear-induced gelation without adding electrolytes. The particles are composed a rubbery core grafted with polystyrene shell. Depending shell-to-core mass ratio, can be partially covered by leading to strawberry-like morphology. It is found that at fixed fractal dimension clusters constructing gel decreases (i.e., more open cluster structure) as shell increases, until reaching plateau. SE NI pictures gels reveal structure variations due occurrence partial coalescence among particles, which increases. In region where reaches plateau, negligible. conversion incomplete and increases extent decreases. This related fact smaller coalescence, larger size. Thus, because its cubic dependence size, aggregation rate decreases, increased conversion. therefore evident key parameter controlling surface coverage To further verify this conclusion, we have carried out another set varying mass. only well correlate values from two sets coverage.
