摘要: Advances in ocular imaging devices including optical coherence tomography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance have enabled the visualization of pathological myopia characterized by excessive elongation eye, thereby identifying microscopic changes ranging from posterior segment (sclera, choroid, retina, and/or optic nerve) to anterior segment. Imaging-derived measures or biomarkers are thus potentially useful assessing degenerative occurring myopic fundus, evaluating early preceding macular degeneration, providing objective structures aid detecting staphyloma formation progression, degeneration-tilted disc syndrome, glaucoma high myopes. However, highly eye is not straightforward associated with challenges such as optics-related aberrations, focusing ability current devices, morphological alterations fundus nerve. Finally, strengths weaknesses each these modalities relation been discussed. An understanding microstructural myopia, potential usefulness limitations will better inform clinicians its future diagnosis management vision-threatening complications myopia.
