摘要: Abstract In this study, a series of new 2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)propionate-based herbicidal ionic liquids (HILs), incorporating well-known, commercially available tetraalkylammonium cations, were synthesized in high yield (≥89%) via simple two-step procedure. Generally, at room temperature, the products comprising least one long alkyl substituent cation viscous liquids. All salts maintained biological activity against selected dicotyledonous weeds (common lambsquarters and cornflower). Among tested salts, HILs with dodecyltrimethylammonium, trimethyl(tetradecyl)ammonium trimethyl(octadecyl)ammonium cations characterized by highest efficacy both plants. The spray solutions prepared revealed their good surface-activation wetting properties (contact angle = 43–63° surface tension = 27–29 mN m−1), justifying an enhancement caused facilitated penetration active substance into interior plant. values octanol–water partition coefficient indicate low potential for bioaccumulation soil.
