摘要: IUE spectra of UX Ari obtained during the large flare 1979 January 1 exhibit chromospheric and transition-region emission-line fluxes about 2.5 5.5 times brighter than quiescent fluxes, respectively, up to 1400 quiet sun. A high-dispersion spectrum 2000-3000 region exhibits enhanced Fe II emission, which is probably associated mainly with K0 IV star, Mg emission asymmetric wings extending +475 km/s. These line are interpreted as evidence for mass flow from star G5 V star. speculative scenario major long-lived RS CVn flares proposed in component stars have very corotating flux tubes, occasionally interact. Magnetic reconnection results tubes that temporarily connect two stars.
