摘要: Reviewing the past and present status of personalized medicine, hope promise from several years ago was critically compared to what is really achieved tailor drug treatment according patient's in- dividuality. The basis for consideration we know about variant disease patient suffering from, mechanisms influencing plasma concentration-time profile, such as activity metaboliz- ing enzymes transporters. In cancer treatment, drugs are currently selected regarding molecular properties tissue, eg, expressing receptors HER2 receptor. Currently diagnostic tests available allowing detect somatic cell mutations that can be used guide selection. Unfortunately, tumor heterogeneity developing resistance by further may limit success therapy determined diagnos- tics. described in ki- netics factors understand mechanisms. However, only a few cases genetic background main determinant kinetic variability, environmental other have an additional important role. Therefore, much more has done be- fore translate accumulating knowledge into benefit patient. Only then, speak per - sonalized medicine.
