摘要: Abstract Thin film composite membranes are used worldwide especially for desalination and water treatment. However, effective permeation, to minimize fouling, feed must be pre-treated before membrane Moreover, polymer degradation by oxidizing agents the presence of undesirable elements such as boron in permeate persistent challenges. Novel fabrication methods based on modern technologies may facilitate creation robust selective compositions coatings. Here we explore hybridization between ink-jet printing technology interfacial polymerization process. In this study, patterned incorporation a fluorinated diamine into an m-phenylenediamine-based polyamide yielded improved salt rejection that was explained terms increased layer hydrophobicity. Incorporation new monomer, observed using FTIR XPS, resulted more hydrophobic surface whose morphologies were similar lacking fluorine. The combination with facilitated unique layers demonstrated potentially useful laboratory tool. Further development accelerate discovery efficient promote exploration material combinations, potential compositions, not possible conventional methods.
