摘要: Abstract The effects of high power laser on aluminum and copper targets are investigated experimentally. Shadowgraph imagining is used to observe the expulsion material, plasma-plume formation shock wave generation. Confocal microscopy for crater depth analysis, which showed that two distinctive regimes exist. At irradiances lower than 1011 W/cm2 increases monotonically with increase irradiation. higher irradiances, reaches a limit value while in case copper, decreases between 1011 2 × 1012 W/cm2, then again. present results clarify effect plasma shielding limiting depths by providing first time measurements metals at irradiance regime.
