Emergent transcatheter arterial embolization for norovirus‐associated life‐threatening ulcer bleeding to achieve successful hemostasis in 2‐year‐old boy

摘要: Case We report a 2-year-old boy with duodenal ulcer active bleeding that occurred as result of norovirus gastroenteritis. On admission, the patient presented shock accompanied vomiting and melena. Abdominal contrast enhanced computed tomography scan showed signs bleeding. Outcome He was successfully treated emergent transcatheter arterial embolization. After treatment, endoscopic examination revealed stool antigen test found to be positive. The recovered completely without any sequelae. Conclusion Life-threatening in children can caused by viral When therapy is unsuccessful or difficult, cases small children, angiographic intervention safe alternative treatment option gastrointestinal bleeding.
