摘要: Epilepsy is the most common neurological disease in veterinary practice. However, contrary to human medicine, epilepsy classification medicine had not been clearly defined until recently. A number of reports on canine have published, reflecting part updated proposals from organization, International League Against Epilepsy. In 2015, Veterinary Task Force (IVETF) published a consensus report and definition epilepsy. The purpose this retrospective study was investigate etiological distribution, survival time dogs with idiopathic (IdE) structural (StE), risk factors for time, according recently IVETF classification. We investigated cases that were referred our teaching hospital Japan during past 10 years, which encompassed different breed population Western countries. total 358 satisfied criteria. Of these, 172 (48 %) classified as IdE 76 (21 %) StE. these dogs, 100 (consisting 65 35 StE) included study. Median initial epileptic seizure StE 10.4 4.5 years, respectively. lifespan 13.5 10.9 years, Multivariable analysis demonstrated high frequency (≥0.3 seizures/month) focal seizures. Focal seizures identified factor IdE. Clinicians should carefully differentiate type it difficult identify With good control, can survive nearly same general dog population.
