The Role of Esophageal pH-metri Test on Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease Diagnosis

摘要: Gastro-esophageal reflux disease is a pathological condition of esophagus which caused by gastric content into esophagus. There an increased prevalence gastro-esophageal disease. The roles esophageal pH-metry in clinical application include looking for abnormal acid exposure on with no abnormality found endoscopy; evaluating patients following the anti-reflux surgery who are being suspected reflux; normal endoscopic result but still having refractory symptoms against proton pump inhibitor medication; detecting chest pain heart evaluation; otolaryngologic manifestations (laryngitis, pharyngitis, chronic cough) after therapeutic failure 4-weeks treatment; and correlation between adult onset non-allergic asthma.
