Luminescence and Photoconductivity in Cadmium Sulfide at the Absorption Edge

摘要: Measurements of optical transmission, photoconductive response, luminescent edge emission, and excitation spectrum for emission have been made on single crystal specimens CdS at 77\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K 4\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K. At the lowest temperature there is an energy gap more than 0.1 electron volt between absorption onset emission. Coupled with information from infrared properties CdS, this observation suggests that in material may occur a special center not be characteristic pure lattice.
