摘要: OBJECTIVE Isolated intramedullary spinal cord or cauda equina involvement by sarcoidosis is quite rare. We report three patients with intraspinal and absent systemic manifestations of the disease. The clinical presentation, operative management, electrophysiologic studies, pathology, laboratory investigations, current therapy are discussed attention to previous literature. METHODS Two had a preoperative diagnosis cervical tumor. third patient an infectious process involving equina. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) gadolinium did not suggest inflammatory process. Intraoperative somatosensory evoked potential performed in two exhibited normal amplitudes, but prolonged latency seven out eight extremities; central conduction time suggesting peripheral radicular involvement. All underwent laminectomy biopsy pathology. RESULTS Pathologic examination demonstrated all patients. observations, nodules, thickening meninges were inconsistent neoplasm limited surgical procedure biopsy. Frozen sections at operations revealed that confirmed intraoperative observations. Postoperatively, diagnostic work-up for was negative manifestations. CONCLUSIONS rare management corticosteroids. surgeon should attempt complete resection if this granulomatous suspected.
