摘要: Objective The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the role smoking as a risk factor for peri-implantitis. Material methods Six electronic databases manual search resulted in 5876 unique publications. After selection, only seven studies were included review. Dichotomous data expressed ratios (RRs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs). A generic inverse variance statistical model used. Due expected interstudy heterogeneity, random effect used both types. Heterogeneity assessed with Cochrane χ2 I2 tests. The pooled considered significant P-value <0.05. Results The implant-based revealed higher peri-implantitis smokers (RR: 2.1, CI: 1.34–3.29, P = 0.001) compared nonsmokers, but patient-based did not reveal any differences 1.17, 0.78–1.75, P = 0.46). No evidence heterogeneity detected two analyses (χ2 = 0.64, P = 0.89; I2 = 0% χ2 = 2.44, P = 0.30; I2 = 18%, respectively, implant- meta-analyses). Conclusion There is little that peri-implantitis. However, given low number studies, future are needed confirm these results.
