摘要: Dissimilar joints between ferritic and austenitic steels are of interest for selected applications in next generation fast reactors. In this study, dissimilar friction-stir welding an 11 pct Cr ferritic/martensitic steel to a 316 stainless was attempted the mechanical properties microstructure resulting welds were examined. Friction-stir produces stir zone without macroscopic weld-defects, but two not intermixed. The interleaved along sharp zigzagging interface zone. During small-sized tensile testing zone, did act as fracture site. Furthermore, refined both improved over adjacent base material regions. This study demonstrates that can produce contain no weld-defects display suitable properties.
