Robust Stochastic Maximum Likelihood Algorithm for DOA Estimation of Acoustic Sources in the Spherical Harmonic Domain

摘要: The direction of arrival (DOA) estimation the sound sources has been a popular signal processing research topic due to its widespread applications. Using spherical microphone array, DOA can be applied in harmonic (SH) domain without any spatial ambiguity. However, environment reverberation and noise degrade performance. In this paper, we propose novel iterative stochastic maximum likelihood (ML) algorithm for multiple presence spatially nonuniform SH domain. main idea proposed is considering general model received We reduce complexity ML by breaking it down two separate problems: parameters problems. Simulation results indicate that improves robustness estimation, i.e, root mean square error, at least 7dB compared recent methods reverberant noisy environments.
