摘要: Those who attended the AIDS sessions at 1992 American Anthropological Association meetings in San Francisco were confronted by a number of diametrically opposed anthropologies AIDS. Some stressed theory, conceptual matters, and talk, while others focused on applications action. The pervasive tension between theoretical applied research was compounded for many assumptions that qualitative symbolic constructs is necessarily rather than such incompatible with quantifiable behaviors. But, fact, confining our interests either to theory symbol systems or practical quantitative data weakens potential contributions anthropologists can make health education disease prevention.
