摘要: For many years Australia has had the highest incidence and mortality rates in world for melanoma. The rate been increasing at around 5% per year rate, a slightly lower than that. Epidemiology studies have shown clearly that there is both constitutional an environmental contribution to melanoma risk, with sunlight being major risk factor environment. data also show thickness of time it removed one determinants likelihood metastasis thus long-term prognosis. Both these components incorporated into public health programmes aimed control over last 25 years. Primary prevention reducing desire tan subsequent overexposure sunlight. Secondary (early detection) encouraged people community seek early attention if they notice new or changing pigmented lesion. Although age-adjusted continue rise, cohort analysis reveals overall rise not reflected all age groups. In younger cohorts - groups possible influence by our campaigns recent decades are dropping.
