摘要: The paper attempts to portray the 1968 software scene, by recalling principle technical issues and concerns of time. These are discussed under headings Software as a Commodity, Programming Languages, Multiprogramming Time-Sharing, Modularity Structuring, Problems Large Systems. ends with an account major debates at first conference ever held on subject “software engineering”, NATO Conference that took place in Garmisch October 1968.
