摘要: Longitudinal pavement markings provide a visual reference to help driver properly guide the vehicle. The must be replaced once their nighttime retroreflectivity falls below an acceptable level. rate of degradation marking differs between various materials. This research investigates change in over time for 90-mil thermoplastic markings. Between October 2005 and July 2007, retroreflective properties 85 sites 14 counties Tennessee having longitudinal were studied. In accordance with ASTM E-1710, 30-meter geometry retroreflectometer was used measurements. paper describes analyzes patterns decay found during study. It also assesses 3 statistical regression models (Linear, Logarithmic, Quadratic) predicting based on application time. finding indicates that initial changing trends study early service life are different. variability significantly influences analyzing trends. Therefore, it is suggested prediction model development relate by color, roadway type, spatial cluster, rather than solely material.
