摘要: Abstract Granulation is an important particle-size enlargement process, used in many industrial applications. within the pharmaceutical industry has, for years, been performed through adoption of a batch process. However, technique using co-rotating twin screw granulator has found to be very effective at granulating. The quality and manufacturing attributes granules produced vary depending upon number different machine powder parameters. focus work described this paper on crucial role that accurate feeding powders plays successful production acceptable granules. This looks both rigid frame flexible LIW designs also compares performance across two scales feeder from same commercially available product family. was active ingredient (API) component major constituent formulation investigated. Consequently physical properties API were contributing factors poor flow paper. As consequence under investigation, feeder, which fine pitch concave assembly convey powders, unable accurately deliver blended materials successfully. due blend bridging (or rat holing) hopper while influence bridge breaking scimitar blade. material successfully delivered conveyance section then quickly over worked by screws as result design. resulted motor shutting down upper control limit power exceeded. In contrast, only uses single spiral able low bulk density more effectively. Additionally wall should consolidate. efficient transfer storage auger connected upstream granulator.
