摘要: In North Tuscany the remains of Hercynian mountain chain are covered in places (Massa metamorphic Unit) by fluvio-lacustrine deposits with layers coal Stephanian and Autunian Ages, as determined from rich fossil flora. These florasuggest a hot-humid intertropical-type climate. The sedimentological features furthermore point to remarkable instability relief wich were found Permo-Carboniferous sinking basins. During Lower Permian this increased further, thus causing corresponding increase erosion on reliefs amount clastic material deposited basins between mountains. upper part lacustrine basin San Lorenzo Pisan Mountains is completely filled in. At (Saalian movements) undergoes sharp rejuvenation: deposit coarser detritic (Asciano Formation) result morphological variations following vertical movements. However climate now has changed drier sub-arid type. On variation can be seen red fanglomeratic Asciano Formation. Post-Hercynian sedimentation ends Formation: area there none fine-grained which, other areas, cover arid lowlands at end Permian.
