摘要: Abstract Translocation of photoassimilated 14CO2 by individual leaves Agropyron smithii was stimulated exposure tillers to 200 μg m−3 SO2. In response increased sink demand expanding leaves, labeled exposed SO2 exported an average 12% more carbon than control leaves. The relative concentration and partitioning 14C in developing 177 153% greater, respectively, on the treatment tillers. Below-ground concentrations were greater SO2-exposed only early-growing-season sampling date. concurrent increase translocation above-ground sinks rhizome indicates a stimulation reproductive leaf growth with μgm−3 Productivity, photosynthetic, 14C-partitioning responses compared monitoring subtle effects low-level exposure.
