摘要: It was investigated whether alterations of the pupil's light reflex might reflect Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology. Changes in system be expected due to AD pathology present oculomotor Edinger-Westphal nucleus, and a cholinergic deficit caused by degeneration nucleus basalis Meynert. A rather new method repetitive stimulation applied assessing variations pupil size, latency, amplitude over time. We analyzed 44 healthy controls, 42 subjects with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), 66 patients. MCI showed less pronounced size decrease increase time than controls. higher MMSE associated relative greater latency MCI, absolute alone. Pupil correlated cerebrospinal fluid markers AD. Summarized is not stable under stimulation, but changes systematically MCI. Thus response potentially indicates
