摘要: A field survey of mercury pollution in environmental media and human hair samples obtained from residents living the area surrounding Chatian mine (CMM) southwestern China was conducted to evaluate health risks local residents. The results showed that waste, tailings particular, contained high levels maximum concentration 88.50 μg g−1. Elevated were also found surface water, paddy soil, grain, which may cause severe problems. inhabitants CMM exceeded 1.0 g−1, is limit recommended by US EPA. Mercury concentrations soil positively correlated with roots, stalks, grains, suggested major source plant tissue. average daily dose (ADD) for adults preschool children via oral exposure reached 0.241 0.624 kg−1 body weight per day, respectively, approaching or exceeds provisional tolerable intake. Among three routes, greatest contributor ADD ingestion rice grain. Open-stacked have resulted heavy contamination depth appreciable 100 cm.
