摘要: The anterior/posterior (AP) positions of three subcortical regions; the amygdala, supra-optic nucleus hypothalamus and mammillary bodies, were estimated with respect to skull in 35 rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta). distances from external auditory meatus, which stereotaxic coordinates are typically derived, these nuclei found be highly variable. In contrast posterior tip sphenoid bone, was visualized on lateral radiographs, provided a landmark at remarkably constant AP distance nuclei. This used guide series amygdaloid lesions injections. accuracy operations strongly suggested that bone could predict not only but also height amygdala. It is proposed this radiographic technique applied other hypothalamic basal forebrain regions.
