摘要: Growing fruit, vegetables and herbs on one’s residential property has many benefits. This paper first reviews the benefits of urban edible gardening factors determining this behaviour, then reports an empirical study quantifying relative influence psycho-social Eastbourne residents, New Zealand. Predictor variables explained 58% variance in behavioural intention, with perceived control having strongest influence, followed by subjective norms attitudes. Behavioural intention together 42% self-reported behaviour. Gardening was significantly higher for respondents exclusive use their yard, living a house, long-term residents. Available time, space sun, practical skills, knowledge were as barriers to gardening. Our results identify motivators that behaviour change campaigns can target encourage beneficial we highlight research gaps.
