摘要: Purpose The aim of this study was to develop a shortened version the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP) appropriate for use in edentulous patients and evaluate its measurement properties. Materials methods Data were collected from Ontario Study Older Adults longitudinal clinical trial implant-retained prostheses undertaken Newcastle Dental Hospital, UK. All subjects completed an OHIP at baseline, UK also posttreatment. Using item impact reduction method, (called OHIP-EDENT) derived both datasets. Discriminant validity responsiveness properties modified compared with OHIP-14 OHIP-49. Results method reducing 49 items produced very similar subsets Canadian British populations; had little overlap current short (OHIP-14). OHIP-EDENT effect sizes assess sensitivity change, exhibited less susceptibility floor effects than appeared measure change as effectively Conclusion has comparable full 49-item version.
