摘要: Metal contents in soil samples are commonly used to evaluate contamination levels. However, the distribution of metals is dependent on particle size. We investigated various size fractions from four sites Puchuncavi Valley (Central Chile). The were segregated into ranging 0.3 20μm and analyzed using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) mass (ICP-MS). results statistical analysis total metal concentrations indicated that Greda Maitenes, nearest industrial sources, most contaminated. For these sites, size-fractionated containing higher Cu, Zn, As, Pb found finer fractions, suggesting anthropogenic depositions smelter facilities. In addition, a high Ca concentration was observed which could be attributed technological approaches reduce SO2 emissions roasting process copper sulfide. mineral composition fine particles permitted identification Tenorite Calcium oxide, likely associated with smelting activities, confirming enriched particulate matter smelter.
