摘要: The responses of single auditory nerve (AN) fibers in the cat were recorded response to 25 ms tone pips. Peristimulus time histograms (PSTH) discharge patterns from with high spontaneous rates (high SRs), show that rate rapidly adapts a much lower steady-state level over 15 period shorter times for units best frequencies (CFs) greater than 5 kHz. PSTHs low SRs do not this pattern rapid adaptation. Differences between and SR populations include higher thresholds, better tuning, longer latency population. peak-to-steady-state ratio is an increasing function CF; it varies 1.0 = 0 8 CFs near 10 This increases stimulus intensity recovery time. population shows number transients which are weak or absent Increasing shortened both AN by as 1 ms. A other properties also reported important when interpreting cochlear nucleus neurons
