摘要: Background and purpose: E-cadherin plays an important role in the cell-cell contact of normal epithelium. Loss expression may be related to tumour invasiveness metastatic potential. In a group patients treated for oesophageal carcinoma by radiotherapy only, we found that immunohistochemically detected p53 correlated with reduced survival, mainly because occurrence distant metastases. We questioned whether, this patients, was concomitantly altered served as predictive factor development Materials methods: Immunostaining performed on paraffin- embedded biopsy specimens from adenocarcinoma squamous cell oesophagus. status its correlation regard pretreatment parameters treatment outcome were determined. Results: An aberrant staining pattern did not correlate any parameters. univariate analysis, significantly potential tumours had cellular E-cadherin, which strongest carcinomas. However, multivariate analysis only Conclusion: Although, better, rather than worse prognostic factor, remained significant parameter carcinoma. No relationship between found.
