摘要: Abstract Background The potential for the co-existence of genetically disparate cells (microchimerism) and associated cytokine profiles following red blood cell (RBC) transfusion in trauma patients has not been well characterized to date. This study investigated incidence surviving donor white (known as transfused-associated microchimerism (TAM)) changes patients. Study design methods Trauma with an injury severity score (ISS) >12 who had transfused between 2012–2016 at least 5 units RBC over a 4 h period were recruited. ISS > 12 did require recruited controls. TAM was determined using panel insertion/deletion (InDel) bi-allelic polymorphisms. Selected pro- anti-inflammatory analyzed cytometric bead array. Results cohort (n = 40) median ISS 28 [12–66], received 11 [4–114] hospital length stay 35 days [1–152]. Only (27.5%) returned follow-up sampling after discharge. Of these, one patient showed InDel pattern indicating presence TAM. No control (n = 49) Cytokines IL-10 IL-6 found be elevated Conclusion In this cohort, occur transfusion. Elevated cytokines detected those transfused. However, could correlated cohort.
