Cross-cultural usability of the library metaphor

摘要: Computing metaphors have become an integral part of information systems design, yet they are deeply rooted in cultural practices. This paper presents investigation the cross-cultural use and usability such by studying library metaphor digital libraries context Maori, indigenous population New Zealand. The ethnographic study examines relevant features Maori culture, their form knowledge transfer physical libraries. On this basis, points out why when fails other users, indicates how can contribute to improvement future designs.
