摘要: Applications of commodity particleboard are currently restricted by low screw-holding strength and stiffness. Replacing the core particles with small strands that used in oriented strandboard (OSB) to produce a "particle-strand-particle" (PSP) hybrid can significantly improve properties. In this study, set particleboards was fabricated standard particles, randomly arranged OSB strands, or aligned assess effects particle replacement their orientation core. PSP-random board similar laboratory random properties such as density profiles, internal bond strength, edge screw withdrawal resistance, but its were improved compared control particleboard. PSP boards had higher thickness swelling typical strand-based composites. Particleboard PSP-oriented lower surface density, whereas density. Core strand methodology problematic, further optimization could potentially enhance utility M2- M3-grade into more load-bearing applications.
