摘要: Past destructive earthquakes (e.g. the 1994 Northridge earthquake and 1995 Kobe earth‐ quake) have left a clear signature on engineering community worldwide, changing thinking of structural engineers [1-2]. As such, after holding several workshops confer‐ ences, an innovative approach namely Performance-Based Design (PBD) was presented by modern guidelines [3-5]. In principle, structure designed using PBD should meet performance objectives in accordance with set specified reliabilities over its service life. This is aimed to reach design candidates associated more predictable seismic behavior, quantifying controlling risk at engineered acceptable level.
