摘要: Abstract Fires in highway tunnels produce high temperatures, heat radiation, low visibility, and several toxic dangerous gases. Thus, materials used tunnel structures should be designed order to limit such problems. The present work addresses the formulation of asphalt mixtures with fire retardant properties based on: (i) substitution traditional mineral filler specific flame retardants (FR) like aluminium hydroxide (ATH) magnesium (MH); (ii) use binders nano-modified organo-clays. behaviour smoke release were evaluated by means cone calorimeter test. Among FR fillers, ATH gave most encouraging results terms releases. simultaneous nanocomposite binder gives a synergic effect which significantly changes improves mixtures.
