摘要: The paper presents a Geographic Information System GIS-based approach to quantifying and comparing retail structures. It explores the landscape of three largest market towns in County Tipperary, Republic Ireland, namely: Clonmel, Thurles Nenagh. context for study is provided through an overview recent changes Irish sector, dynamic associated challenges inherent defining structure. Using demographic store location data demand threshold analysis undertaken on custom-defined catchments each town derived using Huff Model. highlights that applied GIS approaches can effectively be used examine structure benchmark relative under-or over-penetration activity within given set markets. also underlines limitations such need high quality longitudinal supply.
