摘要: Abstract Background Diabetes Prevention Programs (DPPs) comprising intensive lifestyle interventions may delay or even prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes in people with pre-diabetes. However, engagement DPPs is variable session times and transportation being reported amongst barriers; this be addressed by community pharmacy (CP) involvement given its recognition for accessibility. Objectives To explore factors influencing National Health Service (NHS) DPP role CP prevention. Methods Nine hundred sixty-two questionnaires were posted to pre-diabetes identified from five general practices Norfolk, England between November 2017 May 2018. Follow-up semi-structured interviews (n = 10) a focus group (n = 6) conducted sample questionnaire respondents. Questionnaire data analysed quantitatively using SPSS qualitative inductively thematic analysis. Themes relating further COM-B model behaviour change. Results A total 181 (18.8%) responses received, quarter whom have either dropped out declined attending national DPP. engagers more likely report program location as convenient. Community was perceived an acceptable setting delivering prevention services (DPS) preferable alternative regular users work social commitments. Participants felt that opportunity engage DPS enhanced accessibility flexibility making appointments. Knowledge about provided previous experience central influences capability motivation respectively. Conclusions This research outlines could influence pharmacy-based provides evidence inform intervention development. Further would required determine feasibility cost-effectiveness such interventions.
