摘要: We review the present status of studies DNA sequences using methods statistical physics. evidence, based on systematic entire GenBank database, supporting idea that sequence in genes containing noncoding regions is correlated, and correlation remarkably long range, i.e., base pairs thousands distant are correlated. do not find such a long-range coding DNA. discuss mechanisms molecular evolution may lead to presence power-law correlations their absence One mechanism simple repeat expansion, which recently has attracted attention biological community conjunction with genetic diseases. also new tools – e.g., detrended fluctuation analysis useful for complex hierarchical structure.
