The Intergroup Aspect of Organizational Workgroups: The Role of Group Support Systems

摘要: In this study, we explore the supporting role of group support systems (GSS) in organizational workgroups that involve groups distinct social identities. Intergroup processes become relevant and prevalent such trigger new issues. Anonymity is an important feature GSS concerning influence intergroup setting whereby it not only shields individual participants’ identities, but also corresponding groups’ We report on results experiment consisting 20 workgroups. Results show anonymity reduces subjective uncertainty conformity, increases minority satisfaction, improves decision quality. The enforcement common fate its impact are examined. Our findings provide preliminary indication usefulness settings
