摘要: Abstract The concept of ‘phylogenetic inertia’ is routinely deployed in evolutionary biology as an alternative to natural selection for explaining the persistence characteristics that appear sub-optimal from adaptationist perspective. However, many these contexts precise meaning and its relationship are far clear. After tracing history ‘inertia’ biology, I argue treating phylogenetic inertia explanations mistaken because is, a Darwinian point view, simply expected effect selection. Although Darwin did not discuss inertia,’ he assert explanatory priority over descent. An analysis provides perspective which assess Darwin’s view.
