摘要: Heart failure (HF) is a chronic medical condition rapidly growing in prevalence. Evidence links HF to cognitive decline, obesity, and psychological distress. The current study examined the association between function ejection fraction (EF%), anxiety, depression, obesity inpatient HF. Patients completed Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-Item Scale (GAD-7), Patient Health Questionnaire 9-Item (PHQ-9), Mini-Cog while hospitalized for Additional demographic information was gathered via chart review. All models controlled age. Of 117 patients assessed (49% male), 55% (n = 64) were obese. ANCOVA analyses conducted comparing those with without on function: model A included EF%, B C anxiety. three significantly related function. There significant interaction effect of EF% anxiety predict scores. Post hoc partial correlational revealed that negatively associated scores among only obesity. Depression not either group. However, demonstrated higher depression than without. Results suggest at lower may be greater risk dysfunction Cognitive independent These findings reflect "obesity paradox" observed patients, have different biopsychosocial presentation, which lead unexpected clinical outcomes. Further research necessary articulate relationship
