摘要: Abstract A 2-kW continuous wave Nd:YAG laser has been used to modify the surface microstructure of an Al-6013/SiC p composite; aim is improve corrosion resistance material. Laser treatment composite at intensities 6.37 and 10.62 J mm −2 resulted in selective vaporization aluminium matrix. Moreover, amount Mg 2 Si precipitates was reduced. The results both anodic potentiodynamic polarization immersion tests have shown that pitting significantly improved by treatment. An increase E corr pit up 230 60 mV, respectively, obtained after Furthermore, size pits were considerably improvement considered primarily due reduction refinement composite, which found be sites for nucleation.
